Uganda: KCCA Rebrands

Kampala Capital City Authority will today unveil a new logo that will represent the new look and corporate entity body of Kampala City.

According to the KCCA spokesperson Peter Kauju, the ceremony will take place today 29 November 2012 6:00Pm at Serena Hotel, Kampala

KCCA Executive Director, Ms Jennifer Musisi, told journalists that the process of rebranding is as a result of a survey under World Bank funded Kampala Integrated Development Project (KIDP) to transform the image of the city.

A number of achievements have been registered in public health and environment, roads, garbage collection and street lighting amongst others.

She added that, "after consultations with a team of experts, we had recommendations to rebrand and change both our logos and colors though they still remain a secret until today evening when we unveil them."

As a corporate entity, KCCA wants the people of Kampala to view it as a body responsible for the administration of the city with zero tolerance to corruption.

KCCA was established under the 2010 KCCA Act, mainly to make Kampala a more organized, transformed and modern city. It started operation in April last year and has since made changes in the city that have been received with mixed reactions from the public.
