Uganda: Mother Gets Two Years for Procuring Prostitution

A mother been sentenced to two years in prison for forcing her 14-year old daughter into prostitution.

Ruth Nabunya, 35, of Luzira, a suburb in Kampala, was arrested in July this year after the daughter confided in her teachers that her mother was bringing men at their home and forcing her to sleep with them.

It is said that after a counseling session on children's rights at her school, the brave girl, who cannot be identified for ethical reasons, walked up to her senior woman teacher crying and narrated how her mother was forcing her to sleep with old men.
