Nigeria: Eko 2012 - Scrabble Open Tourney Begins Today

The Open tourney for scrabble to rate all players will begin today while the singles event starts tomorrow. The events will take place at the Multi-Purpose Hall A venue of the scrabble events.

The centre has a sitting capacity of over 500 persons is air conditioned with adequate lighting. Chairman technical sub-committee of the Nigeria Scrabble Federation Faruq Baba-Inna said there are 41 female entrants from Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, FCT, Imo, Lagos, Ogun, Osun and Oyo states. Rivers has 11.

26 states are participating in the festival with new entrants from Katsina and Ebonyi State. A total of 280 athletes are accredited to play scrabble.
