Nigeria: Buhari's Daughter, Zulai, Dies in Kaduna Hospital

Former head of state, General Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday lost his eldest daughter, Zulaihatu, who died around 7pm in a Kaduna hospital. Zulaihatu, who was married to a pilot, Captain Junaidu Abdullahi, would have turned 40 on Wednesday, December 5, 2012.

According to the information made available to LEADERSHIP by the family, she died from pregnancy complications two days after child birth.

She is survived by her husband and three children, Halimatu Sa'adiya Junaid (daughter), Muhammadu Buhari Junaid (son) and the baby boy she was delivered of three days ago.

She was buried last night at Unguwan Rimi Cemetery in Kaduna in accordance with Islamic rites.
