Kenya: Killer Husband Goes Into Hiding

A middle-aged man hacked his wife to death as their three-year-old son watched in Gilgil. The neighbours were woken up by the cries of the child and found the woman's mutilated body hidden under a seat.

Police and wananchi in Eburru village started looking for the suspect who has gone into hiding. A neighbor said the couple, who had been married for more than five years, had on several occasions differed and even fought in public.

"The two argued over some money. The man attacked his wife with a machete and fled leaving her to bleed to death," he said. Naivasha police boss Charles Kortok said initial investigations point to a domestic quarrel gone sour.
