Angola: Official Acknowledges Few Use of Solar Energy

Luanda — The national director of renewal energy, Sandra Cristovão, has acknowledged that the use of solar energy in the country is not yet significant, taking into account the national power network, Angop has learnt.

She said so when presenting the theme The Challenges of the renewal energies in Angola, atthe conference, taking place on November 29-30, in Luanda, held by the Ministry of energy and waters.

According to her, power production is done from thermal and hydric centrals that use oil-byprodutcs. But to overcome the situation it will be necessary the supply of energy to rural areas, as well as the concern to the climate changes, she said.
