Angola: Four Percent of Country's Population Are Old People

Luanda — Angola has 17 million inhabitants and four per cent of them are old people, says the Ministry of Social Assistance (Minars), Angop has learnt.

The Ministry also says that the economic and social instability and the consequent state of emergency throughout the three decades of war, do not enable the materialisation of the social policies in benefit from this class of the society.

"This is that most of the population not only had a degradable living quality, such as due to the war, recorded a premature aging", adds the document.
