Nigeria: Senator Petitions Minister Over Power Projects in Katsina

Senate Deputy Minority Whip Senator Abu Ibrahim (CPC, Katsina South) has petitioned the Minister of State for Power, Zainab Kuchi, over the exclusion from the 2013 budget seven ongoing power projects in Katsina State.

In the petition dated November 23, 2012, Ibrahim said there was no basis for excluding the budgets from the 2013 budget since they had been awarded having been provided for in the 2011 and 2012 budgets.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja yesterday, the lawmaker expressed fear that the projects could disappear completely in 2014.
