Kenya: Lawyer Denies Sh21 Million Fraud

A warrant of arrest issued against a city lawyer on Monday was yesterday lifted. Ashna Vinodchandra through lawyer Cliff Ombeta had argued that she came to court willingly.

She is accused of defrauding Shrisnayu Sheshadri and Prema Shahaddri of Sh21,840,000 between November 11 2011 and March 27 promising to sell them land.

Ashna denied the charges. Principal magistrate Latish Wachira released the accused on a Sh5 million bond and a surety of a similar amount. The case will be heard on March 11.
