Namibia: Keetmanshoop Rape Victim in a Coma

A 13-year-old girl is in a coma in the Keetmanshoop State Hospital after she was violently raped.

Police Chief Inspector Bennie Groenewald said the girl was found by a passerby lying half-naked behind the J Stephanus Soccer Stadium in the town’s Tseiblaagte residential area during the early hours of Saturday.

It is suspected that the rapist, who is still at large, struck the girl on her head and left her to die, said Groenewald.

Groenewald urged anyone with information that may lead to an arrest to contact the nearest police station.
