Gambia: Aki Bayo Joins Cabinet - Bala Jahumpa Re-Assigned

Momodou Aki Bayo, permanent secretary No.1 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been appointed as the new minister of Regional Administration, Lands and Traditional Rulers, a media release from State House reveals.

Meanwhile, the release further stated that the president of the Republic of The Gambia Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh, acting under the provisions of Section 71(1) & 73(3); and Section 71(1) & 71(3) of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia has re-assigned Hon Bala Garba Jahumpa, minister of Information and Communications Infrastructure to the portfolio of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, as Minister and appointed.

The Office of the President the release went on seizes this opportunity to once again inform ministers and permanent secretaries that there will be no compromise on job performances and delivery and therefore, would be jointly held accountable for all their actions.

In a related matter the release added, Civil Servants are being warned that the Office of the President is aware of those coming into work late and going home early. "This can no longer be condoned and drastic actions would be taken on those found wanting" the release concluded.
