From November 21 to 23, 2012, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun paid a visit to Mozambique. During his visit, Zhai met respectively with Mozambican President Armando Emilio Guebuza and Minister for Foreign Affairs Oldemiro Baloi, and held political consultations between the two Foreign Ministries with Mozambican Deputy Foreign Minister Koloma.
The two sides exchanged in-depth views on Sino-Mozambican relations, the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation as well as regional and international issues of common concern and signed cooperation documents between the two governments in the fields of agriculture and human resources training. Zhai also accepted interviews by Mozambique's mainstream media.
During the meeting, President Guebuza spoke highly of the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries, saying that bilateral relations are turning a new page and China has become Mozambique's important and indispensable partner.
Foreign Minister Baloi and Deputy Foreign Minister Koloma said that the Mozambican government attaches importance to developing friendly relations and cooperation with China and is willing to further deepen bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and trade fields as well as between the two Foreign Ministries to push the ties to a new level.
Zhai said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mozambique, the two countries have always shown mutual understanding, trust and support and remain truly good brothers, good friends and good partners.
In recent years, the exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade, human resources training, Chinese language teaching, radio, television, journalism and poverty reduction are rapidly expanding and have promoted the common development of both sides.
China is willing to work together with the Mozambican side to continue keeping closer friendly exchanges, strive to enhance the level of cooperation and push forward the China-Mozambique friendly and cooperative relations.
