As the Liberian Government strives hard in the rebuilding of the nation after 15 years of devastating civil war, one of the country's oldest partners in business, the Liberian Cement Corporation (CEMENCO) has continued to identify itself in trying to boost the Liberian economy.

CEMENCO in a bid to enhance the infrastructural development of the nation is presently installing a new modernized mill to increase the expansion capacity of 750,000 metric tons. With the current market of 250-275,000 metric tons, the new expansion capacity will provide a surplus edge to satisfy their futuristic pallet of growth and infrastructural developmental process.

Moreover, the latest development is bound to create job opportunities as there will be a 20% increase the country's skilled and unskilled labor force.

Considering the dire need for wealth distribution as regards to financial independence in creating the necessary required middle class which is important to Liberia's imagined growth and stability processes, the newly installed mill will now accord CEMENCO to attract and absorb more distributors in every corner of Monrovia and its environs including rural Liberia by ensuring the stability, availability and affordability of their product.

The new mill when completed, will also afford them the technology to produce different grades of cements in the country.

With this development, Liberians can now say no to the importation of bagged cement and say yes to enhancing industrialization in Liberia.

Accordingly, the company has also incorporated into its empowerment scheme for community dwellers mainly youth through their contractual and casual employment atmosphere. There has been a significant improvement as regards the reduction of fugitive dust emission at the plant site located on Somalia Drive, due to the advanced technology implored since Heidelbeing Cement Group acquisition.

CEMENCO is set in the right direction for "nation building" with the commission of new mill early next year, which incorporates equipment that continuously monitor dust emission in keeping with the EPA International norms and standards.
