Sierra Leone: News Alert On National Prayer Day

The entire Muslim community in Sierra Leone will today at 12:00 noon host newly reelected President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma and members of the government to a National Prayer Session at the National Stadium, Brookfields, Freetown.

"The prayer session will be used as a forum for the Muslim community to congratulate the president ...

on his successful reelection at the recently concluded November polls", says the Special Assistant to President Koroma on Social Affairs, Alhaji Sheka Kamara.

It would be recalled that the November multi tier elections, the first to be held in Sierra Leone, were lauded by international as well as local observer missions as being free, fair, transparent, peaceful and largely credible.

According to Alhaji Sheka Kamara commonly called Shekito, "The Sierra Leone Muslim Community is calling on all Sierra Leoneans, including all opposition parties to attend the national prayer session, and also come onboard the governance process to move the country forward."

Stay tuned for details and real time pictorial coverage of the event at the National Stadium at 12: 00 noon..

May the peace and blessings of the Almighty Allah be upon all Sierra Leoneans and their well wishers on this wonderful Jummah...
