Egypt: PM Qandeel to Inaugurate Conference of Asea

Prime Minister Dr. Hisham Qandeel will open the annual conference of African Stock Exchange Association on Monday.

Egyptian bourse chief Mohamed Omran said that the conference will be preceded by two closed meetings to be held by the executive committee and general assembly on Sunday to elect new members, and to adopt the annual budget and fiscal reports.

Omran denied the canceling of the conference. He confirmed that the conference and committees' meetings will be held as scheduled.

He added that 23 African countries will participate in the conference to discuss means of developing the financial markets in Africa as well as setting new mechanisms to improve and attract local and foreign investments to the African markets.

ASEA is currently represented by 20 exchanges in 27 African countries.
