Airtel Kenya has launched a new SMS subscription service that enables customers to purchase SMS bundles that they can use for both on-net and off-net SMS at competitive rates.

To use the service, customers will be required to dial *767#, and select the bundle that they prefer.The least bundle consists of 5 SMS and the highest bundle is 100 SMS where a customer will send an SMS at Kshs 0.2. The service is currently open only to Airtel Kenya prepaid customers.

"This initiative is in response to insights from our customer surveys amongst the youth who are in constant need to keep in touch with their groups and to update each other on events and activities at all times. We aim to give customers throughout Kenya greater freedom by offering them access to affordable superior quality communication and service on our network to make it easy for them to keep in touch with family and friends with ease," said Airtel MD , Shivan Bhargava.
