Egypt: Elbaradei - Mursi, Assembly Actions Are 'Coup Against Democracy'

Founder of the Constitution Party Mohamed ElBaradei described on Friday President Mohamed Mursi's stance and his adherence to the constitutional decree as well as the constituent assembly's standpoint as "a coup against democracy".

On Twitter, ElBaradei wrote, "The president and his constituent assembly are currently staging a coup against democracy. Regime legitimacy fast eroding."

While protesters in several Egyptian governorates are demonstrating on Friday to revoke the president's constitutional decree, others who are pro-Mursi and his decree are staging demonstrations of their own as well.
