It is difficult to imagine a new resort opening in the coast of Kenya with all the unflattering news coming from that part of the country in the recent weeks. This did not scare some investors who believe in Kenya and some of the opportunities it has to offer.
The new Ora Watamu Bay Resort owners ignored the naysayers and opened its doors last weekend in Watamu. The new resort with 150 rooms is part of the Ora group and had a party to celebrate the opening. The guests included Southern cross Safaris sales director Philip Kasavo with his family and radio personality Maqbul Mohammed and his wife Louisa.
Those in attendance were charmed by general manager Sonia Penazzo's enchanting smile as they enjoyed the "Capitano" Michele Franzie's cherry and brandy concoction with entertainment provided by DJs and an acrobatic troupe.
