Kenya: Coastal Residents Asked Not to Shun the Polls

Jamal Mzee Fankupi, a coastal peace coordinator has urged residents to vote since it is the only way to have their historical and present injustices addressed.

Speaking to the Star, Fankupi said boycotting elections is not a solution rather would only lead to more problems for coastal people

"The problems our people are facing are as a result of past poor leadership. The only way we will get any form of justice is if we vote for visionary leaders," he said.

He also asked residents to shun divisive leaders, refuse to be bought and asked the youth to steer clear of people who will pay them to cause violence.
