Angola: Defense Minister Honours Cuban Internationalists Killed in Angola

Luanda — Angolan minister of National Defence, Cândido Pereira Van-Dúnem, Saturday paid homage to the staff of Cuba's Revolutionary Armed Forces (FARC) killed in Angola during the struggle for independence and preservation of its sovereignty.

In his congratulatory message sent to the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba who mark their 56th anniversary, the Defence minister availed himself the opportunity to express the Angolan government availability to continue strengtheing the cooperation in the field of

defence and their respective armed forces.

"On behalf of the Defence ministry, Angolan Armed Forces and myself, offer heartfelt congratulations," reads the document.

The official recalled the contribution of the revolutionary forces in the struggle for national independence and preservation of the sovereignty of the Republic of Angola, along the Angolan military, during invasion by the forces of former apartheid regime of South Africa.
