Zimbabwe: Miss Curvy in GTEL Face of Zim Final

Miss Curvy Zimbabwe 2011, Tanya Chikuni, is expected to contest at the GTel Face of Zimbabwe beauty pageant which will be held at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on December 15.

Mike Tashaya, Face of Zimbabwe Trust marketing director, confirmed the development saying they decided to include models who had performed exceptionally well in other pageants.

"Tanya will join other models that we have named 'wildcards'. These are models that were popular with the public when they contested at their various pageants. We believe they will spice up our pageant," he said.

The wildcards are Letwin Tiwaringe, (the reigning Miss Southern Africa), Sheena Siyamfinya (Miss Photogenic at Miss Universities), Jacqueline Ngarande (the Miss Global first princess), Thabelo Masoha, Shamiso Chifokoyo, and Cynthia Qongo.

GTel marketing director, Robert Gonye, said a total of 16 models confirmed they would be taking part at the grand finale.

The pageant will be held under the theme Embracing Technology in Celebrating Zimbabwe's Beauty.

Musicians Ammara Brown, Nox, Sulumani Chimbetu, CeeJay Besa, Stunner and Ex Q will perform at the event.

The pageant is run by Face of Zimbabwe Trust and sponsored by G Telecoms.

The contestants were selected through online public voting which was moderated by some highly experienced judges.
