Angola: State Secretary Encourages Children to Join Opa

Huambo — The State secretary for Family and Women Promotion, Ana Paula Sacramento Neto da Silva, encouraged, in Huambo city, children to join the Organization of Agostinho Neto Pioneers (OPA).

The official was speaking on Saturday during the closing ceremony of the celebrations of the 49th anniversary of OPA, on behalf of the minister of Family and Women Promotion, Filomena Delgado, warning that the organization is a great school and provides staff for the

country's future.

He appealed to parents and guardians to monitor the day-to-day lives of children, because only then we will have a fairer Angola without young offenders and children with scholars who can ensure a better country for all Angolans.

"We want children to be disciplined and know the symbols of the Republic in order to respect them and have a spirit of patriotism, to distinguish the good and evil," he said.

The event was marked with massive entry of over a thousand children in the ranks of Organization of Agostinho Neto Pioneers.

OPA currently has more than five thousand members in the province of Huambo, founded on December 1, 1963.
