Nigeria: Kano Govt to Immunise Eight Million Against Meningitis

The Kano State Government said it had concluded plans to immunise eight million people in the state against meningitis in the exercise which begins on December, 1.

This is contained in a statement from the state Ministry of Health signed by its Public Relations Officer, Malam, Isma'il Gwammaja, in Kano yesterday.

The statement said the exercise would hold at some primary health centres, houses of district heads and ward heads as well as at some local government secretariats.

He said people between the ages of 1 and 29 were to benefit from the vaccination tagged "Meningitis Africa Vaccine (MENAFRIVAC).
