Tanzania: Kinondoni Man Hangs Himself

A MAN identified as Mr Raphael Marugu (70) of Goba Kinzudi, a resident in Kinondoni municipality, was found dead hanging from a tree branch by a rope on Thursday.

The Dar es Salaam Police Special Zone Commander, Mr Suleiman Kova confirmed the death in Dar es Salaam. "The reason behind the death is not yet to be known as the deceased didn't left any massage, the body is being preserved in Mwananyamala Hospital pending further investigation."

Mr Kova confirmed the occurance of motor accident along Pugu Road at Ukonga Magereza Hill. The vehicles involved in the accident include a Toyota Rav 4, registration number T 918 ASE driven by Kumbuka Tagire who rammed into a Nissan Civilian, with registration number T 275 BJL driven by Sudi Shaban.

"Seven people were injured, three were treated and discharged while the rest identified as Rufingo Mohamed, Kumbuka Tegire (driver), Praygod Kihaka and Aza Yasin were rushed to Amana hospital," added Mr Kova.

In a separate development in Mabibo in Kinondoni municipality, police arrested three people allegedly in possession of locally brewed liquor (gongo). Mr Kova identified the suspects as Fred Wilbrad (42), Mzenga Omary (30), and Mamu Biligenda all found to be in possession of 14 litres of local liquor.
