Kenya: Kiprop and Chebet to Defend Titles At Wareng Cross Country

AFRICA 10,000m champion Wilson Kiprop and former world cross-country champion Emily Chebet will be the star attraction at the Tuskys Wareng Cross Country set for tomorrow at Huruma Grounds in Eldoret.

Kiprop and Chebet will be out to defend the titles they won during last year's edition. Race director Moses Kiptanui, said they are ready for the race and expects a higher turn out as compared to last year.

"We want many runners to join the race and prove their worth," said Kiptanui, adding that there will be registration fee. Kiptanui, a three time world 3,000m steeplechase champion and the first man to run under eight minutes in 3,000m steeplechase, said: " The event will serve an excellent ground for the athletes to prepare for the season."

The highlight of the event will be the normal four categories of 12km senior men, 8km senior women, 8Km junior men and 6km junior women. Children and veterans will also have their won category.
