Sudan: Gunmen Shoot Local Administrator

Turum Valley — Unidentified gunmen shot a newly appointed firsha (local administrator) in Turum Valley, West Darfur on Wednesday, 28 November, witnesses told Radio Dabanga.

Firsha Saleh Mohamed Khater, known as Mutta, was returning to Habila when two gunmen ambushed and shot him dead, onlookers recounted. Turum Valley is located between Tulus and Habila.

According to sources, besides being recently appointed as firsha, Khater was also a voluntary return official for Tulus.

The reason of the attack is still unknown.
