Kenya: Paul Tergat Named Johnnie Walker Giant

Kenyan world marathon record holder Paul Tergat was yesterday inducted into Johnnie Walker 'Walk With Giants' hall of fame which celebrates the life stories of some of the world's most inspirational men.

Tergat who won many titles and set several world records on the track, in cross country, and on the road will be part of the Johnnie Walker mentoring session initiated by East African Breweries. He is nicknamed the Gentleman and is known for being extremely hard-working and self-motivated.

Tergat was named the UN World Food Programme "Ambassador Against Hunger". He set up the Paul Tergat Foundation in 2005 to help disadvantaged Kenyan sportspeople.
