Kenya: Coast League Finals Action Now Moved to High Level in Docks Area

THE much anticipated Coast Basketball League finals have been moved from Buxton to High Level in Docks area. The event, to be held today, marks the conclusion of the six-month long tournament.

In the men's category, Oceaners from Likoni have a date with high-flying Makupa Lakers who will be representing Mombasa.

Buxton Hawks will then take on Aga Khan Academy in the boys category while Kenyatta University-Mombasa Campus will battle Pwani Hoopers in the women's senior category.

Hoopers will be seeking to conclude the tournament on a high after dominating the event. Coast Basketball Association (CBA) have set aside a Sh30,000 cash prize for the men's category and Sh20,000 for the runners-up.

Women winners will get Sh15,000 with second finishers walking home with Sh10,000. CBA chairman Ali Hilmy revealed that the most disciplined club and player will also be rewarded.

On their way to the finals, Oceaners beat Mombasa Polytechnic University College 71-54 as Makupa Lakers bundled out Kiembeni Heats 62-51 in the men's category.
