Nigeria: JTF Storms Bomb Factory in Yobe

Maiduguri — Operatives of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Yobe State yesterday stormed a bomb-making factory in Damaturu and recovered arms and ammunitions.

Spokesman of the JTF, Lieutenant Lazarus Eli, said an early morning cordon and search operation was carried out at Buhari Estate along Gashua road which led to the discovery.

He added that a decomposing body was also found underground at the bomb factory. "It could probably be the body of a suspected terrorist that died from gunshot wounds in a recent cross fire," he said.

He said bomb-making materials, two rifles, medical supplies, tear gas canisters ammunition, magazines as well as military, police and immigration uniforms had been recovered in the house.

Last week, the JTF in Yobe State had recovered 5, 207 rounds of ammunition and assorted arms in Kandahar ward of Damaturu metropolis.
