Nigeria: Court Summons Ajaokuta Steel Boss Over Contempt

A Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja has summoned the Sole Administrator of the Ajaokuta Steel Company, Engr. Joseph Isa Onobere, to show why he should not be punished for contempt.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Innocent Okeanonife, in charge of the company was also summoned to appear before the court on Thursday, December 6.

The two allegedly prevented First Bank and Mr. Bola Olotu, the appointed receiver/manager to take inventory and possession of floating assets of the mortgaged company contrary to court order.

Justice I.E. Ekwo gave the order following an exparte motion filed by First Bank over the N6.2 billion loan facility taken by the company.
