Tunisia: President of Republic Confers AMT Chairwoman On Creation of IHACA

Carthage — President Moncef Marzouki discussed, on Saturday, with Tunisian Judges Association (AMT) Chairwoman Kalthoum Kannou the issue of justice's representation within the Independent High Audio-visual Communication Authority (IHACA).

At the end of her talk with the President of the Republic, as part of consultations on the creation of this institution, she also said that the meeting had helped underscore the need to create this IHACA as soon as possible in order to fill in the legal vacuum presently existing in the information sector.

Besides, she reaffirmed President Marzouki's commitment to advocate the preservation of the independence of justice and to enshrine this principle in the new constitution.
