Luanda — The 5th Congress of Swapo, the ruling party in Namibia, which was attended by representatives of Angola's governing MPLA and other political parties of Africa, ended its works on Sunday and re-elected Lucas Hiffikepunye Pohamba as president.
Sam Nujoma and Toyvo Ya Toyvo were elected as permanent members of the party's Central Committee, while Nangolo Mbumba was elected as the secretary-general, in substitution of Pendukeni livula-Ithana.
The congress was attended by over 600 delegates and foreign delegations.
The Angolan delegation was led by the member of the MPLA Politburo, Afonso Van-Dunem "Mbinda".
