Libya sent the first of several humanitarian aid convoys to the embattled desert town of Bani Walid, Libya Herald reported on Friday (November 30th). The government has also established emergency committees to address different aspects of the crisis: security, essential services and the safe return of thousands of Bani Walid refugees.
More than one month of fighting between government-controlled forces and fighters from the former pro-Kadhafi stronghold ended in October.
