Algerian Interior Minister Daho Ould Kablia announced ballot totals from the local elections held Thursday (November 29th), APS reported.
According to Kablia, the turnout for the communal popular assemblies (APCs) reached 44.26%, marginally higher than in 2007, while the rate for the wilaya assemblies (APWs) was 42.92%, down from the 43.26% registered in the 2007 elections.
More than 21 million Algerians cast their ballots on Thursday. The interior ministry is expected to announce the official results on Friday.
