Gambia: Manjai Final Put Off for Security Reasons

The final -put off for the second time -is to be a tough heated rivalry between Manjai South and Johannes FC coming in the wake of heated controversy.

Tempers could run high in the final at Manjai owing to recent controversy involving Johannes whose title ambitions were dwarfed by a Manjai committee's ruling last week -before the decision was revoked, sports pundits claim.

The Manjai Nawettan overseeing committee thought it prudent to call-off the final on the heels of these fears.

"The security personnel were invited but they did not turn up. We are told that they were attending a programme in Kanilai. But we wrote to them earlier anyways." Lamin Keita, Manjai development officer told Foroyaa Sports.

The first slated final was halted on directives from the top before an independent KMC sports committee's verdict on the Manjai committee-Johaness collision. No date has been named yet for the final.
