December 8th has been chosen as date for the adoption of GFA constitution, a dispatch from the FA says.
The approval of the Draft constitution came about after the GFA met with football stakeholders during the 'behind the closed doors' meeting where it is said both parties reached a common ground.
The Normalisation Committee of the Gambia Football Association embarks on the task of aligning the GFA Constitution with the FIFA Statutes - a requirement for all national football Federations affiliated to FIFA.
After the government-backed Committee completed its first draft, it conducted a series of consultative meetings with all stakeholders on the draft constitution, which eventually led to a final draft that incorporates the concerns and expectations of both FIFA and the national stakeholders.
Congress for the adoption of the Constitution is scheduled for Saturday December 8th at the Independence Stadium friendship hostel.
Delegates to the congress are to be drawn from first, second and third division clubs across the country.
