Arusha — President Jakaya Kikwete has warned the East African Community (EAC) partner states against rushing the signing of the protocol establishing the region's Monetary Union.
Kikwete said that although the partner states currently have a single fiscal and monetary policy under which the Central Banks make pre-budget consultations, rushing the Monetary Union he said, might lead the region into the same past mistakes that caused the collapse of the first community.
