Sudan: Six Cases Filed On Kutum Incidents

Khartoum — The prosecutor of the Special Court for Darfur Crimes revealed that six cases were filed concerning incidents in Kutum, namely the murder of the commissioner of El-Waha locality on 1 August this year, Radio Dabanga has learned.

Yasser Ahmed, the prosecutor, said that investigations 'have so far taken considerable steps'.

In addition, four reports from the areas of Shawa, Sigili and Abudjalaik, south of El-Fasher, have been filed and investigations are 'ongoing'.

Besides, two important cases from West Darfur are also being handled, Ahmed stated. He pointed out that one of them is related to the attack on the personnel of the Nigerian troops of UNAMID.

Lastly, the murder of an engineer and his daughter is also being investigated, along with the follow-up events in Hashaba and Suq Jaaour.

Yasser Ahmed asserted he managed to present cases of the areas of Abu Zereiga, Zam Zam camp and Beer Baskawiet in four courts.
