Kenya: Boca Juniors Win Teso District Title

BOCA Juniors won the inaugural CDF Teso District football league after beating Lukolis from Amukura 3-2 on penalties in the final staged at Malaba Primary School grounds at the weekend.

Under the tutelage of coach Altaf Bachu, Boca drew 1-1 with Lukolis in regulation time with Bernard Onudi scoring for the victors and captain Opoo leveling terms for the losers.

Referee Maurice Papai then applied penalty rules, where Dennis Ikaa, Suleiman Mohammed and Igod Tarkan found targets to lift Boca. Lukolis, who played an outstanding game scored through Joseph Osiba and Dickson Ojamada. Fredrick Okwara and Richard Wafula had their shots saved by Boca goalkeeper Suleiman Mohammed while Douglas Ikwaras shot wide.

In the semi finals, Boca beat Maembe 2-0 with Emodoi Baggio and Samuel Gitonga scoring while Lukolis beat Otimong 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Boca received a set of uniforms, a ball and Sh20,000 while Lukolis took home uniforms, a ball and Sh15, 000. Maembe and Otimong got uniforms and Sh7,500 each.
