The on-going face-off involving the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, the Malaysian High Commisssion and a property developer, Messrs. Global Formwork Limited has no doubt created a bag of mixed feelings among a section of the media and the Nigerian public.

At stake is the issue of a whopping 510 hectares of land which was leased in 2004 to Messrs. Global Formwork Limited under which condition it was agreed that the lessee would develop and sell 14,085 housing units to members of the public, that is, the would-be beneficiaries of the ensuring rights and certificates of occupancies
