Zimbabwe: Germany Asks for Elections Role

The Germany government has asked Vice President Joice Mujuru to be allowed to observe harmonised elections penciled for March next year.

Speaking to journalists after meeting Vice President Mujuru at her Munhumutapa Offices Germany Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Mr Dirk Niebel said he requested for Government approval to allow observers outside Sadc and the African Union to be part of next year's election observers.

He said Vice President Mujuru told him that Government is still discussing the issue.

Mr Niebel said his country is following with keen interest, political developments in Zimbabwe such as the constitution making process adding that such processes should culminate in free and fair elections
