Chairman of the Nigeria Nationwide League, Ahmad Muazu Kawu has commended the Sokoto State Governor Ibrahim Wamakko for his efforts towards the development of grassroots football in Nigeria.

Kawu, who doubles as a member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), said in a chat in Abuja that the acceptance of the governor to host the NNWL end of year programmes which comprises the Annual General Assembly and the Super 8 in the state is a reflection of his love and desire to move the sector forward.

The former Special Adviser to former Kano State Governor, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau said by that magnanimous act, Governor Wamakko has demonstrated his readiness to develop grassroots football in the country.

"No one will claim not to see the good works of Gov Ibrahim Wamakko in the area of youth and human development. Because of his strong belief in grassroots football development, he accepted to host the Super 8 and our AGA in Sokoto", he said.
