Nigeria: Handball - Plateau Promises to Beat Imo

Ex international handballer, Nadabo Ibrahim has promised to run down their counterparts from Imo in their quarter final match of the 18th National Sports Festival which throws off this morning at the handball court of the University of Lagos.

Ibrahim who is one of the accompanying coaches of the Plateau state handball team to the festival was drawing his strength from the fact that the Plateau female team was picked from a particular village in the state.

He boasted that what his girls would play against Imo this morning is 'scientific handball' owing to the kind of training they were given while in camp ahead of the festival

He said, "I want to place on record that Plateau state did not poach any handball player from any state outside Plateau. All the girls you see in Plateau are from the same village, same language and this makes it easier to bring them together and they are going to play against Imo a scientific handball. We took them from the beginning with professional training".

Among the qualifiers in the quarter final stage include Oyo, Kaduna, Lagos, Rivers, Ondo and Edo in the female category while in the male event are Lagos, Borno, Sokoto, Rivers, Ondo, Kano, FCT and Niger.
