Zimbabwe: Army Deployment in Manicaland Bad

press release

The Zimbabwean government must first educate the soldiers they are deploying in Manicaland on their actual mandate, so that they do not stray to harass people as we approach the elections set for next year.

Whilst its crucial for the government of Zimbabwe to deploy army personnel at our borders with Mozambique in case the Renamo bandits cause any instability, the desperate army bosses who are an extension of Zanu PF, must not take any advantage of the situation and send partisan soldiers to campaign for Zanu PF and harass innocent civilians perceived to be MDC supporters.

Zimbabweans along the Zimbabwe/Mozambique border are urged to be vigilant and to report any harassment by soldiers to the police, as the soldiers have been deployed along that border for the protection of Zimbabwean interests.
