Zimbabwe: Double Date Wins Fillies Stakes Race

SOUTH African Double Date won the Champion Fillies Stakes race at Borrowdale Park on Sunday.

The five-year-old from the Seb D'aquino yard proved way too good for other six runners who took to the field.

Trained by Brendon Mcnaughton and piloted by David Manyika, Double Date convincingly won the 1600-meter event.

Double Date boasts of vast experience having participated in 45 events - winning three times, and was placed fourth favourite before the race.

Run Feast from the Kirk Swanson stable finished second in the race.

Sherman Brown trains the horse and Progress Winasi was on board.

Penthouse pulled a surprise to come third when he was rated sixth before the race.

The Garikai Tsuro-piloted five-year old was late to get into groove but showed a good burst of speed at the end.

Bo Jally finished fourth.
