Western Sahara: Celebration of International Day of People With Disability in Saharawi Refugee Camps

Chahid Al Hafed — The Prime Minister Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar oversaw this morning the celebration of the International Day of People with Disability, being commemorated on Dec 3rd every year.

The celebrations, which took place outside headquarters of POLISARIO Political Branches' Secretariat, were jointly organized by the Saharawi Ministry of Social Affairs and the Promotion of Woman and International Committee of the Red Cross, and it was attended by representatives of Saharawi civil society organizations.

The event was marked by the organization of a marathon, participated by members of the POLISARIO National Secretariat and the Government, as well as foreigners and young Saharawis.

International Day of People with Disability (December 3) is an international observance promoted by the United Nations since 1992.
