Gambia: Africell Conferred Excellence Award in Leadership

Africell, a renowned GSM company in The Gambia, was on Wednesday conferred Excellence Award in Leadership by the Global Center for Transformational Leadership at a ceremony held at theAfricell head office along the Kairaba Avenue. This was in recognition of their relentless innovations in transforming the GSM landscape in The Gambia.

The ceremony was attended by staff of the company including Musa Sise, Media consultant; and Muhamadou Papa Leigh, the head of Corporate Affairs.

The Global Center for Transformational Leadership is an NGO and leadership educational institution based in Ghana. It offers leadership coaching, mentoring and training and it has eyemarked Africell for obvious reasonsvccvdsad. The Center has also awarded events and honour statesmen and others who have made a positive and huge impact on their people and society.

Speaking on behalf of the president of the Center, Most Reverend Dr. Godwin Davies, its representative in The Gambia, Reverend Joseph Mensah, said that they encouraged all those working to make Africa become better, saying that The Gambia is on the map of transformation. He described The Gambia as a peaceful country in the continent, noting that when there is peace, there can be development and Africell is key to that development; hence the reason they decided to give them this award.

Papa Leigh awarded

The Center also awarded Muhamadou Papa Leigh, the head of Corporate Affairs at Africell, for his noble contribution to the development of his organisation and to the community and for his exemplary leadership in his chosencareer.

On receiving the awards, on behalf of the management and staff of Africell, Papa Leigh expressed profound gratitude to the Global Center for Transformational Leadership, and dedicated the award to the entire management of Africell. He thanked the Center for the awards, indicating that it will serveas motivation fo them to do more.
