Luanda — The first International V«Conference on Arbitration jointly sponsored by the Bar Association of Angola (OAA), the offices of "MG Advogados", "Sociedade de Advogados Serra Lopes" and "Cortes Martins" (SLCM), is taking place in Luanda as from Tuesday, Angop learned.

The information is contained in a press release from the organisation that reached Angop on Monday, stating that the event will go with the theme "Arbitration in Action". According to the release, the conference will tackle the topic arbitration at crucial time, in view of its relevant role in the litigations of commercial character among states, businesses and individuals, both at national and international level.

The note further states that during the meeting the participants will discuss such topics as the recent progress recorded in the legislative and institutional spheres, the need to disseminate the knowledge of the subject, with stress to its historical, social and economic environment of openness to the world and adoption of a pro-arbitration stand.

The source adds that the topics of the event are intended to mainly provide the participants with a global vision on Internal and International Arbitration, the inter-connection with the judicial system and the current context of arbitration in Angola. The event has been designed for magistrates, lawyers, post-graduation and master students, business people and other people interested in the subject.
