Sudan: South Sudan, Sudan Reiterate Commitment to Implement Addis Ababa Agreements

Tor Deng Mawein, South Sudan's Presidential Adviser has announced that President Salva Kiir has invited President Omar Al Bashir of the Republic of Sudan to Juba and assured him of South Sudan's readiness to fully implement the Addis Ababa Agreements. He also told the press that President Kiir had sent President Al Bashir a detailed plan for implementation of the agreements. South Sudan's chief negotiator, Pagan Amum, who held talks with his counterpart, Idriss Abdelgadir and Defense Minister Abdel Rahim Mohammed Hussein in Khartoum on Saturday (December 1st) described his discussions as positive and shared his optimism of an imminent rapprochement. South Sudanese officials have also expressed their hopes that the resumption of oil exports will start by the end of this month.
