TEN small political parties yesterday took their pre-election coalition agreement with the Registrar of Political Parties Lucy Ndung'u promising to field candidates jointly in the March 4 general election.

The parties did not however declare who will be their presidential candidate. The parties include Labour Party of Kenya, Sisi Kwa Sisi, Mwangaza party, Agano party, New Democrats, People's Party of Kenya, Maendeleo Democrats, National Labour Party, Progressive Party of Kenya and Conservative Party of Kenya. The parties said they will work under the name "Political Parties Forum."

We as small political parties have decided to come together because we have the same agenda that we wish to deliver for the benefit of all Kenyans," said the forum's chairman David Wakahu.

Today marks the deadline for parties wishing to form pre-election coalitions ahead of the elections to take their agreements to the Registrar of Political Parties.
